The Comment Policy

Thank you for adding to the conversation!  I appreciate that you have taken the time to not only stop by Pisteuo, but to write me a comment.  Your input is most welcome.  Before you post, though, please consider the following:
  1. Do keep a civil tone and clean language.  Christian civility means to avoid name-calling, such as "legalist,""Pharisee," or some other pejorative whipped our in anger to cut a fellow creature made in God's image.  Moreover, as I tell my SAT students, profanity is for those who either lack the intelligence or are to lazy to express themselves in any other way, even if you believe it to be okay language in modern conversation.  Whether directed at me or another commenter, violating these basic norms of this behavior will not be tolerated.  If you have a thoughtful criticism, though, please share.
  2. Don't comment on the title of the post, unless you have also read the post.  This is to protect you from appearing silly in front of the tens and tens of other visitors to this blog.
  3. Don't post spam.  While I see the a lot of topics within the scope of this blog, I leave weight-loss and haircare products to other blogs.  Links to other sites will be deleted, unless they are relevant to the post.
  4. Do be concise.  Please don't post novelettes, if you can avoid them.  The Christians of the Internet genuinely want to read what you have to say, but have a saying: "TL;DR".
  5. Don't feed the trolls. They will just keep coming back for more, and then we'll never get rid of them.  I'll try to delete trollish behavior, but in case I don't catch it, keep in mind that some people get their kicks from bringing offense.
  6. Don't comment if your comment is that I should not comment on someone else publicly.  Your discharge of irony will overload the servers and break the Internet.  If I have been unfair in my assessment or unbiblical in my words, by all means post your comment, but do be specific.
  7. Don't expect a reply.  Know that I read and ponder your comments, but I still may not reply.  Do not take my silence to be a commentary on your comment.  Indeed, if I keep it on the site, I approve of it.
  8. Don't provoke the ban hammer!  If you become a repeat-violator, your comments will be subject to auto-deletion.
Thank you!

P. S.: I have suggestion posts that are not rules to follow, but rather, are helpful posts on writing that you may want to read: helps on arguing your point and reasons to avoid ALL CAPS. You could also consider this tongue-in-cheek post: "How to leave a comment on the Internet."
