Shake Hands with the Antichrist and Get His Mark in a Tattoo Parlor Near You!

Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda, the man claiming to be the Second Coming of Christ, proudly touts the title "AntiChrist." His reason? He believes the Greek term means "new Christ" and speaks of him.

Yes, he's still running around in third-world nations milking the poor for what little money they have, but claims his popularity is growing in the States.

Anderson Cooper recently interviewed him on CNN:

Does Biblical love make the “War on Terror” wrong? Part 1 - Hypocrisy in Religion

If a person says he believes one way, but acts another, we normally call that person a hypocrite. We do this because we understand that a man cannot act contrary to his cherished beliefs.

If his actions depart from earlier statements, he does not hold to his faith as strongly as he claims (full-on hypocrisy) or he engaged in a short time of myopia for whatever reason and should admit fault (a momentary lapse of temporary hypocrisy).A man cannot truly believe a right turn will lead to a collapsed bridge and then drive his family in that direction for the sake of appeasement. This is not different in politics. If a candidate for an office spoke to a women’s group about his beliefs in the “woman’s right to choose,” and then, once in office, voted to limit abortive procedures, we would wonder about that individual’s character. This issue becomes poignant when a politician claims to be religious. He knows he needs as many votes as possible, and may begin to downplay certain aspects of his suppos…

What is a Sinner?

A recent one of Ray Comfort's blogs questions the Gospel from a position of ethics.

I love the banner in place here, for it pictures the tension in the minds of many non-believers when they hear the word "sinner." For that matter, it probably demonstrates the minds of many professing Christians who struggle with the notion that they sin.

So much of Christian teaching today conceals the word "sin" as though it were a dirty word. No one wants to accuse a non-Christian of sinning -- we might offend -- and we can be certain they don't want to hear such condemnation.

Of course, Christians, themselves, want to be inspired and uplifted. Does anyone attend church to suffer humiliation at the hands of a fundamentalist in a pulpit? May it never be!

What is the connecting factor between non-Christian offense and Christian obfuscation? Human nature. We want to think better of ourselves so we can live with ourselves. Even when the voice of conscience is calling, we…

The Bible's "Buried Secrets?"

Is it really newsworthy when PBS produces a show that claims the Bible is a bunch of hooey? Well, let's keep in mind that our tax dollars help fund the Public Broadcasting Network. And aren't we constantly told that we're supposed to keep church and state separate? (I wonder if Barry Lynn will have something to say about this...)

Here is the story from the American Family Association (via email):
The Public Broadcasting System (PBS), probably the most liberal network in America, will present a program this fall that says the Old Testament is a bunch of made-up stories that never happened. "The Bible's Buried Secrets" says the Bible is not true. It is scheduled to air on November 18.Producer Paula Apsell said: "...It's (The Bible's Buried Secrets) designed for intelligent people who are willing to change their mind. …it will give intelligent people who want to read the Bible in a modern way a chanc…

We Need to Correct Our Bent

We just came back from vacation in Florida, visiting the kin folk. Overall, it was a wonderful visit. Some stories I began to hear, however, made me quite uneasy.

For instance, my ears perked up while visiting our home church when a gal began praising the Lakeland Revival -- to the approval of the pastor and congregation. I was told by others that several people from the church had gone to the visit the supposed outpouring. Having only recently heard of Todd Bentley, and the reports were unsavory from a biblical perspective, I looked for videos on our pal, YouTube. Here are some of the search results:
Todd Bentley hears the "audible voice of God" and discovers he was demon possessed after his profession of faith:
Bentley announces the physical appearing of Jesus Christ in Lakeland, FL. He then equivocates quite a bit, suggesting the visitation may be spiritual and unseen (while still saying Jesus can appear from time to time physically!), but then announces the Lord will …

Distortion of Beauty

Sometimes it is tempting to be depressed over the supposed beauty in the world when comparing it to the image in the mirror. I'm told this is especially true of young ladies.

Well, here is a couple of videos to remind us of the facade that worldly beauty often brings.

P.S., I understand these videos have been up for a while, so you may have already seen them. But hey, its a good reminder!

(Both videos hosted by The Rebelution on YouTube.)
