It (Sometimes) Gets Better, but it will eventually get worse
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor 6:9-11)Scripture provides hope to the thousands of former homosexuals, for they, like the rest of us sinners, have found undeserved freedom and forgiveness in Christ. God's glorious gospel provides the light that burns away the darkness in our hearts (2 Cor 4:3-6).
Unfortunately, the god of this world loves to deceive people, trying to keep them in darkness. He fools them into embracing a Romans 1:18-32 mentality, prompting many to become entrenched in their dark deeds and, in turn, promise to others a false peace and hope to those engaging in similar passions.
Therefore, those who have their thinking darkened will, like savvy marketers, parade best-case scenarios as tacit promises to those who also embrace their values (though actual results may vary). Only after the applause and hype dies down does one realize the façade Photo-shopped realities create.
Case in point: Dan Savage, an avid and even vicious promoter of homosexual rights, launched the "It Gets Better" campaign to paint that façade for young people considering the general lifestyle. By posing it in terms of combating hate and bullying, his project emboldens unhappy teen hearts.
Unfortunately, while the boost of confidence may help in the short-term, the effects of sin will winnow away at the spirits and bodies of those buying the lie. Depression, anxiety, drug abuse, disease, and shortened life spans plague those living out of the closet.
We find this in the dejected response of one homosexual who, under the weight of all of these circumstances, committed suicide. Before he did, he created a video: It Gets Worse. While some might dismiss the video as a disenchanted cry of anger, we are interested in it because it presents a broken soul's well-reasoned anguish. We morn for the family involved, and the countless gay men it represents.
Here is the video, which contains some graphic content of a sexual nature. Below the video, I've pasted the publisher's own information to the video in full, including the links to the studies referenced in the video.

UPDATE: Video Author is Dead (suicide). I (sibling) am leaving this up for now. If you want to leave a comment, I will delete it unless it is clear you watched the whole video, consulted with the literature - and have something substantive to say. Some of the worst comments are in the description box...similar things will be deleted. I have been shocked at how disgusting comments from other GAY MEN have been. This video was made to reach out to other people who were feeling the same way, and he was just attacked for it half of the time. I assume most of the worst comments were deleted before I logged in, but here are a few:
"He comes off as whiny & insecure. It's called LIFE. Grow up & deal with it like the rest if us gay men do." - @txgdb
"I am glad your brother is dead and I hope you die too!" - shirokonezumi
"And if you're so adamant it gets worse, why dont you take a long walk off a short pier; it would certainly end your little pity party for one. let the children out there have some god damn hope. it's not all about you." - SnorkFlirt (YouTube)
"t you are just as shallow as the gay men you rail against. You are, from what I can tell, an extremely overweight gay man in his 30's that feels that your college degree should earn you "status" within the gay bar scene" - TomsFriendKake [he was never overweight - this was just bizarre]

Original Description::
Twitter: @ItGotWorse - The "It Gets Better" campaign has worn out my last nerve. Of course, I understand the goal of the campaign is to prevent teen suicide, but the fabulous lives you are bragging about (or pretending to have) do not apply to a large segment of the (over 30) gay population who do not live your lives - and have never seen an improvement since high school (for all of the reasons mentioned in this video). The reality of gay life (as viewed by me - a "low status" gay, perhaps) is shown in this video. The quality is crappy because I really don't know how to make YouTube videos - but my many (validated- academically or otherwise) points should be clear. It does not get better for everyone.

Queen Bee Syndrome (original study):Homosexuality stands out among sins not because gay people are somehow beneath everyone else, because all sin, including my own, is disgusting before a Holy God. However, because it is also in that category of life-dominating sins like drug-addictions and others, it becomes one that has the ability to uniquely impact and even destroy the lives of all those involved.

But there is always a genuine hope. It doesn't come through reparative therapies that use electricity to recondition the body. It doesn't come through personal efforts to "pray the gay away." It comes only through the gospel of Jesus Christ that converts the soul from darkness into light, through being born again in His Holy Spirit.
This is not a promise for a marginally better life, or even a happy one; it is a promise for a new life. Christ has taken your sins and nailed them to a cross, rising from the dead so that you, too, could have raised unto life. Depending on the length of time one embraces the lifestyle, it may take years to reroute the neural pathways in the brain and repair the physical toll on the body, but many of us have found similar freedom in Christ from our sins, peace with God, and the cleansing presence of the Holy Spirit.
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Eph 2:1-10)
