He Emptied Himself: A Study of the Kenosis of Christ | Mike Riccardi | 2017 Shepherds’ Conference

Image
He Emptied Himself: A Study of the Kenosis of Christ Mike Riccardi | 2017 Shepherds’ Conference This is one of the best presentations I've heard in a while concerning the relationship between Jesus's human and divine nature.  In many quarters, there're growing misunderstandings concerning the Kenosis or "emptying" of Christ in Philippians 2:7.  He lost none of His deity on earth.  MEDIA LINKS:   MP3  /  PDF Mike Riccardi GraceLife | Elder Local Outreach | Elder MORE SERMONS

Who is God? A Debate on the Trinity | Dr. James White v Joe Ventilacion of Iglesia Ni Cristo

Image
I've finally finished watching the recent debate between Dr. James White and Joe Ventilacion of Iglesia Ni Cristo.  If you haven't seen the debate, South Dakota Apologetics has the entire debate (including intermissions) in the video below: Description: Dr. James White of Alpha & Omega Ministries debates Bro. Joe Ventilacion of Iglesia ni Cristo, moderated by Dale Bartcher of Family Heritage Alliance. Dr. White defends the affirmative: “The Bible teaches that within the one Being that is God there exists eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Bro. Joe Ventilacion argues the negative. This event is held in Rapid City, SD, in the Best Western Ramkota Convention Center at 6PM MST, on April 21st, 2017. This event was arranged and coordinated by the ministry of South Dakota Apologetics. Some of my own, brief observations: Different name, same story.   I, like many of you, haven't encountered any INC befo...

Learning from Christ's Ministry | Mark 3:7–12

Learning from Christ's Ministry | Mark 3:7–12 Shaun Marksbury | Morning Service | 22 April, 2017 This passage gives us a review of all that we’ve seen in the ministry of Christ until this point.  It will serve as a launching point for the disciples in the next passage, for Christ is about to send them out in His Name.  Just as they still had to learn from His ministry, so do we, if we are His disciples.  We will see the wisdom of our Lord, the wonders of our Lord, and the warfare of our Lord. The Importance of the Resurrection | Various Texts

The Importance of the Resurrection | Various Texts Shaun Marksbury | Morning Service | 16 April, 2017 Only the resurrection gives us gospel hope, so much so that denying the resurrection means apostasy from the Christian faith.  With that in mind, we’re going to look at the implications the resurrection has for our lives in an attempt to see why it is so important.  I’m not presenting an exhaustive list, but hopefully it proves helpful. Lord of Creation | Mark 6:48–52

48  And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them, 49  but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, 50  for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” 51  And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52  for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened. Mark writes to the Romans, who divide the night into four watches.  The fourth watch is the last before dawn, approximately 3:00–6:00pm.  This means that they had spent hours trying to travel the sea to no avail.  After rowing for so long, and their arms had grown tired, they were unable to move forward on their own.  But they were still in clear view of Christ. ...
