The Weather of the Bible: An Overview of An Overlooked Aspect of Biblical Backgrounds

The next Bible-Science Association meeting at the Master's College will be Oct 17.  The following is the ad from their site (PDF file):
7:00 PM - The statements about weather in the Bible are numerous, telling, but often overlooked.  The Bible not only detailed the Hydrological Cycle centuries before the scientific community, but also details specific information about weather and weather related phenomena that even today still puzzles the meteorological and climate forecast community.  This lecture will look at some issues related to Biblical interpretation as it relates to weather, the weather as a demonstration of the power of God, and an overview of the current hysteria over "Global Warming" and something called the "Evangelical Climate Initiative."
Our speaker, Dennis Swanson - M.Div The Master's Seminary, D.Min Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, entered the ministry after serving almost 15 years at LAPD.  He has contributed over the years to the religion section a major newspaper as well as several theological, counseling and apoligetics books, publications and journals.  He is currently the Director of Israel Studies at The Master's Seminary.

Come Early

In 1831 a young amateur scientist, Charles Darwin, boarded the HMS Beagle on an epic five-year voyage of discovery that would shake the world. In this expansive documentary the HMS Beagle once again sets sail as it retraces Charles Darwin's voyage in lavish detail, examining his findings and remarkable conclusions and their implications in the light of modern knowledge.  Join us for the 5:30 family movie: Darwin: The Voyage That Shook the World.

Book Table

Our book table will be open from 6:00 to 9:00 with one of the widest selections of creation literature available in the southland.  There’s something for everyone from toddler to PhD, from skeptic to missionary.  Books, videos, tapes, magazines... John Arend works very hard to make a wealth of material available to our members.

Reading good material is just as important, if not more so, than hearing our lectures.  Build your creation library at the Bible-Science Association.
