Book of Mormon agrees with Bible, disagrees with Smith

This video is melodramatic until 1:50 (which the author admits).  If you want to fast-forward to the “take seriously” part, it presents an iron-clad evidence against Joseph Smith’s doctrine based on Smith’s own Book of Mormon.

This is the reason why asking people to accept LDS teaching based on the Book of Mormon is deceptive.  Readers coming in with Christian influence may become excited when they find a great deal of scriptural citation, allusion, and doctrine within the text, but the church will proceed to contradict most of it.  As the video states, “The Book of Mormon doesn’t teach Mormonism.”

Moroni 8:18: “For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.”

Fourteen years later…

"... it is necessary that we should understand the character and being of God, and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity, I will refute that idea, and will take away and do away the veil, so that you may see” (Joseph Smith, King Follet Discourse)
